High Availability Redundant Storage
High availability redundant storage systems utilize redundant controllers and power supplies to help achieve higher levels of fault tolerance and system uptime. They are also perfect as the shared storage for your high availability cluster. Shared storage is the weakest link of your cluster, so maximizing redundancy is paramount.
We have a wide range of high availability JBODs using 12G SAS expanders, as well as RAID solutions for 12G SAS, 10GbE iSCSI and 16G Fibre Channel. These offerings from RAID Machine feature a cable-free design. The hot-swappable controllers, PSUs and drives mate directly with the backplane, offering not just redundancy but also fewer points of failure. These high quality systems are perfect for any business seeking fast, reliable and cost effective enterprise storage.
For redundant storage systems, the hard drive interface must be dual ported. SAS drives are recommended since they are dual ported, however you can use SATA drives by purchasing MUX boards sold separately.
The units are also available with a single controller which will reduce your up-front cost - however for high availability clusters, we definitely recommend going with redundant storage controllers. Give us a call and we can discuss various options available.
